This one is probably already in every Saturn owner’s collection anyway but should you not own it, you’ll be pleased to know that you can pretty much pick any region version and just play it, sure the Japanese version features text that maybe unreadable but you can easily get into the main game and get playing within a couple of minutes, this is a blinding game to boot, instantly accessible and one stunning 32 bit game to boot, I’m a big fan of this one and it’s often forgotten about in top Saturn game lists which is a pity as it’s a reason to own the system. This game spawned an even less remembered sequel, Winter Heat in early 1998. Athlete Kings features a wealth of events from running, hurdles, long jump, high jump and javelin amongst others, these events only really require the maximum of two buttons to play so gameplay is very intuitive.
